I would like to find out the actual rate of etching of 1035CR steel that has residual amounts of copper present. Etching with 16-19% sulfuric acid at 160-180F. Running into more trouble with copper plating out during pickling and it is effecting the etching of the base steel material. Is there an actual way to calculate the etch rate?
