Hi Does anyone have a good technique for etching a duplex to carbon weld so that it can be photographed? We use Nital for the carbon and NaOH for the duplex side, but this gives a matt finish to the carbon and a mirror finish to the duplex, which means the duplex just appears black or white on photographs, depending on the background.
