Hello experts,
The company where I work is a die casting aluminum plant and only deal with 383 aluminum alloy, average 0.15% Mg, and some castings after machining show up inclusions. Some external labs tell as the inclusion is Al2O3 and others MgAl2O4.
Is there any way to determine differences between aluminum oxide and spinel by optical or SEM equipment? or Is it possible to etch and see under the microscope color differences in polished samples?
